The Mercy and Grace of Jesus: Encouraging Repentance and Faith in God’s Forgiveness

I don’t have many “What If…” questions for Jesus like I did as a new Christian. However, a few weeks ago, I was reading Ephesians 6, and started thinking about spiritual attacks and how important it is we are clothed in the righteousness of Christ. We are told to pray for all of God’s people. I was asking questions about the Scripture as I was meditating on it, and I was thinking about Judas and how he betrayed Jesus. Instead of repenting, he ended his own life. I was wondering… What if Judas had honestly repented instead? Would Jesus forgive him? Then this Scripture came to my mind, Luke 23 where Jesus was suffering on the Cross. I think Jesus would, because in Luke 23:34 He says, “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” Jesus was able to forgive, even in the midst of his suffering.

Holy Father, please help Your children understand there is not anything that Jesus will not forgive them for. If they will just repent and return to God, they can be delivered. Jesus, bless Your people with Your mercy, Your grace and remind them how precious they are to You! Amen.
