Everyone deals with some form of depression at times in their lives. It can come from an illness that requires medical treatment. Sometimes it might stick around longer than it should and depression is one of our body’s warning signals that we need to see our doctors. Depression can be brought on by many different factors just from living in this world. Depression can also come from our emotions after a loss or due to our circumstances. We need to see a human doctor or counselor to treat depression promptly if it lasts longer than two weeks. We need to take our feelings seriously and not ignore them. One important way to deal with our emotions is to take them to God in prayer too. We need to remember we also have a Spiritual Physician. Our Holy Father and Jesus love to hear from us about anything and everything that concerns us.
The Battle Belongs to the Lord
God’s many Scriptures, remind me that God loves me and will fight for me. I asked and learned God does not want me to live in fear. We need to seek God and ask our questions. The Scriptures do have answers for our frequently asked questions. We are told in 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” These Scriptures give me expectant hope.
We are encouraged in Zechariah 4:6 “This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” We do fall short of being the best we can be. We are not perfect. I have learned that I am more successful and happier when I ask God for help.
God reminds me that He will never abandon me and that helps me trust Him. God wants us to believe what we are told in Isaiah 49:15 “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.“
Lord Give Me Eyes of Faith
Lord God Almighty, sanctify me in You and all that is truly holy through Your Messiah, Christ Jesus. Bless our relationship. Help me pray in Spirit and Truth as You lead me now. I need Your love and peace. Help me put on the Armour of God. Please give our human doctors wisdom as they work towards medical breakthroughs for those suffering in our world.
Lord Jesus, heal my unbelief so I can pray for the miracles that humans need. Please give me discernment and help me resist any resistance to You or Your will. Help me pray according to Your will for myself and others. We need Your help to accomplish everything that betters our world. Lord Jesus, please give me the eyes of faith to pray and not limit You or myself. You are limitless in power and love.
Holy Father of Love, create within me a right Spirit and give me an expectant hope. Set me free to be who You have called me to be. Holy Father of love, be glorified because all things are possible through Christ Jesus. I trust in You, the Lord God Almighty as I look through the eyes of faith for Your ability to deliver and bless us. Amen.
