At a Christmas Dinner, Gary kept talking to me about John 14:14. Gary mentioned the Scripture at least ½ dozen times as we spoke. I finally heard the Lord and knew He wanted me to receive it on a deeper level. Gary also made sure my daughter Amanda was hearing and hopefully receiving this specific Scripture too. I realized that whatever Jesus was doing in Gary’s heart was so profound that Gary wanted that blessing to be passed on to others in his family.
Praying for the Prayers of Others
Gary shared some concerns that he had and I offered to pray with him about those concerns at that moment. He told me that he believed we could agree in the prayer without having to pray together. I felt the Lord wanted me to understand that I could pray with Gary without being physically together as we prayed about his concerns. I knew this was possible due to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. I also felt that when I got home Jesus wanted my prayers to be prayed as if WITH Gary instead of praying for his concerns.
Meditating on Scriptures
The Lord lead me to pray and meditate over the whole chapter of John 14. The Disciples of Jesus in John 14 asked questions as Jesus explained that they would do works in His name for the glory of God. As I read verse John 14:12, I had questions for Lord Jesus too. I asked Jesus what I or anyone else could ever do that would be considered greater than what Jesus had done while He was on earth. I thought of His many miracles and I could not comprehend anyone being able to do anything greater than those miracles.
Praying with the Holy Spirit
Then I remembered something that had happened to me months ago in prayer. The Holy Spirit had me add my voice in prayer to all of the prayers on the Western Wall in Israel while I was in prayer. It was as if the Holy Spirit and I were praying along with all of the prayers on the Western Wall. As I remembered what Gary had said about praying together about his concerns while not being physically together; I knew Jesus somehow wanted me to add my voice in prayer through the Holy Spirit with other people’s prayers.
I understood John 14:12 is about the Holy Spirit. I began to comprehend that the indwelling Holy Spirit allows us to jointly do things as believers without the limitations of our physical nature. Jesus was talking about what the indwelling Holy Spirit would do through us in the name of Jesus for the glory of our Heavenly Father.
Praying the Scriptures
Jesus over the years has been leading me on how to pray through the Scriptures. There is always room for improvement and better understanding through Christ Jesus. He is now leading me to add my voice to the concerns and prayers of others as they read, pray, and meditate over the Scriptures. The Holy Spirit that dwells within each of us, makes it possible for us to pray together as one family in the Lord. A Kingdom of God principle is at work when we pray in truth and in the Spirit of God through the Scriptures. We are not alone when we pray through the Scriptures and ask the Lord to unite our prayer with other Children of God through the Holy Spirit.
Praying about Our Prayers
I have been taught to even pray about my prayers. I asked Jesus to help me pray according to His purpose and will. Now I am being led to pray with other people’s prayers by praying with them regardless of our physical locations. I only know that I want to take this step forward in faith and allow Jesus to use my prayers for His and our Holy Father’s glory. If this speaks to Your heart, please join your prayer through the Holy Spirit with our prayers. Pray the Scriptures with us. I believe God is teaching me there is a difference when we pray WITH someone instead of praying FOR someone on our own. Try praying through the Holy Spirit to pray with someone’s unspoken prayer today instead of praying for them. The Lord hears all of our unspoken prayers. He moves on our prayers according to our best interest.
Prayer
Lord God Almighty, Sanctify us in You and Your righteousness in the name of Christ Jesus and be glorified. I add my voice to the prayers of my sisters and brothers through faith in You and Your ability to perform miracles. I pray with those from Your Israel Heritage (Jews), through Your Scriptures and I add my prayer for Your love, deliverance, mercy, grace, and joy of salvation to accomplish Your purpose in the holy name of Messiah Yeshua. Amen. I pray with those of us who are not from an Israel Heritage (Gentiles), through Your Scriptures I add my prayer for Your love, deliverance, mercy, grace, salvation, and joy from our commonwealth as citizens of God’s Kingdom to accomplish Your purpose in the holy name of Christ Jesus. Amen.
Lord God Almighty, cause us to hear Your voice and obey You. Please give us humble and teachable Spirits. Help us obey out of love and devotion to You our sacrificial and humble God that loves us beyond our complete understanding. We all seek Your mercy and grace for ourselves and those we pray with. We all need Your wisdom in dealing with circumstances and troubling situations. We give You our worry that robs us of our peace. Help us be steadfast in Godly Patience as we yearn for Your warmth in God’s arms. We all need to know and walk in truth within Your Holy Spirit. We all need Your deliverance from evil. Lord, we still need Your miracles concerning those things that seem impossible. I pray with Your children and their unspoken prayers and ask You to help us pray properly according to Your purpose. Make Yourself known in our lives and be glorified. In Your holy name, I ask and pray Jesus (Yeshua), be glorified Amen.
