God looks at the state of our heart, our spirit when we pray. In Romans 8, we can see that God’s Holy Spirit also helps a believer pray. In John 4:23-24, we are told we must worship God in truth and Spirit. It’s all about being honest with ourselves and God.

Time With Jesus Brightens My Heart
Some prayers may seem to be more anointed than others. It’s because, in a way they really are. They help us focus on what is important, God and our relationship with God. Focusing on who God is and the truth concerning God’s attributes, his nature, and our faith, makes a prayer special to God. For example, Psalm 51, the repentance prayer of David was written honestly as David focused on God and poured out his whole heart concerning his sinful acts (2 Samuel 11-12) with Bathsheba and her husband, Uriah. Even though the repentance prayer, Psalm 51 is anointed and the living inspired Word of God, it still must be prayed honestly with OUR whole heart. We need to allow the Holy Spirit to help us as we pray and make it our prayer to God.
How does the Holy Spirit help us?
When I pray about something, the Holy Spirit will bring memories, a feeling, or a thought to my mind. I address what comes to my mind with honesty. I talk to God about my feeling and what I believe. If I am having trouble being honest in the prayer, I must address why I am having a problem being honest. I get honest about being honest.

God Respects Our Free Will
In the past, fear and anger kept me from being honest with God. I never addressed what I believed and why I did not trust God. On the night I addressed my issues with God honestly, I was able to pray a prayer for Salvation. I actually ask Jesus if He would save even me. He said yes and here I am.
