Our God of Hope

We must never lose Hope. God wants us to have expectant hope. The world without God has no hope. When those without God need the impossible, what can they do? Who can they turn to? A few years ago, I was depressed because of health issues in my family. I was beginning to have problems with fatigue. I was starting to feel hopeless. Several Psalm 27 verses literally strengthened me as I meditated on them and began to have hope again. Hopelessness drains us of our energy. Hope is like fuel for our soul.

Psalm 27:13-14 “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. 14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. “.

Citizenship

During prayer, God gave me the word “commonwealth”. It took me awhile to find the word in Scripture because I thought it was two words. It was worth the search. It tells us not to be hopeless as it is true of those in a Godless World but, hope with good expectations. We can hope expectantly because, we are citizens of God’s Kingdom here on Earth. This Scripture also reminds me to thank God for Israel and sending Jesus as our Savior.

Eph 2:12 “That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: “

Trust in God

We do not know what God has planned for us and our loved ones. We need to follow the Practical Wisdom found in Proverbs 3:5-6 and to trust in the Lord with our whole heart and to not lean on our own understanding. Trust that we are dearly loved as individuals by God. We need to call on God’s Holy Name that best fills us with faith, love, truth and purpose in the Christ, the Messiah.

Timing is Important

I remembered something my mother told me when I read the Scripture, Psalm 139. My mother had told me she was pregnant with me the first time she was filled with the Holy Spirit. This gave me a lot of comfort knowing that the Holy Spirit, God had touched me and knew me as I was being formed within my mother.

Psalm 139:13-14 “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”.

Timing is Important

God has been teaching me that timing is important. He waited until my mother was pregnant with her first child before filling her with the Holy Spirit. I needed to hear that God knew me before I was born. I needed for that Scripture, Psalm 139 to touch me on a very personal level. I needed that blessing. My mother needed to associate her first filling of the Holy Spirit with her first pregnancy. She loved to talk about her first time experiencing the glory of God. Her story became a blessing for me too. Sometimes we need to wait on a blessing from God because, He is coordinating something that will bless others too.

Don’t Stop Praying

Holy Father of Love, Adonai sanctify us in Your Holiness and strengthen us to pray in Faith according to Your purpose and Your will. Our faith pleases You. Increase our Faith in and through Your Son, Jesus. My hope is in You to prosper me in Christ and bless those I love. I trust You to love them more than I do. While I am waiting for You to answer my prayers for my loved ones, please help me praise You and be obedient. Help me worship You in Spirit and Truth. Help me do anything You want me to do because I love You. Lord God Almighty be glorified in all of Your children. I pray not just for my own blessing, but I add my voice through Your Holy Spirit to all of the prayers of Your people. Nothing is impossible for You. Be glorified in us and through us in the Holy Name of Your Son, Jesus, The Messiah, Yeshua. Amen.
