What If
If we got in a Time Machine and went back to interview Jews during the time of Jesus and asked this one question, what would they say? The question to ask: Are the Disciples that follow Jesus as the Messiah of God, Jews or Greeks? Why the weird question? I have heard some people now think you cannot still be Jewish and believe that Jesus (Yeshua in Hebrew) is the promised Jewish Messiah. What would we learn if we could interview people from the past?
It is Written in the Bible
I don’t think us Christians have to convert and become Jews to worship Jesus the promised Jewish Messiah, or that Jews have to convert and become Christians. The Bible makes it clear to me in John 10:16, that Jesus can handle both folds and treat them as one flock. The Bible in Acts 15 and Galatians 2 and 3 makes the point that our faith and salvation through Christ Jesus (Messiah Yeshua in Hebrew) is what defines us.
We Still Debate
It is sort of funny to me that in the First Century Church, the debate was whether the Greeks had to convert and become Jews, and now people debate whether the Jewish believers in the Messiah have to convert to become Christians. God seems to be able to handle diversity, but some of us humans really struggle with it. Thousands of years have passed, and we still debate whether the two folds of Jesus can worship Jesus without one of the folds giving up their identity in Christ Jesus.
