Jeremiah 29:11 His Plans are Good

An Unusual Word…

Have you ever gotten an unusual Word from the Lord while in Prayer? Many months ago, while in my morning prayer, Jesus gave me the word “elbow”. I prayed for understanding, but did not get peace about it. I searched the Scriptures. I asked my sister to pray with me and to help me search the Scriptures. When I did not get understanding, I decided that I would just pray about it faithfully, because if Jesus gave it to me, then it had to be important to Him.

I Prayed

I prayed for my elbow, my sister’s elbow, my family’s elbow, and every person who lives in the world. Yes, I prayed for your elbow too. Whenever anyone asked for a prayer, I would include a word of prayer about their elbow.

Understanding Will Come

This morning, I finally got understanding from Jesus. I was working on my computer this morning and thought it would take at least 2 more hours to reach a good stopping point. I was already disappointed that I had not accomplished more from the day before. I wasn’t feeling well and was working from my bed. I had been leaning on my left arm, and the pain in my elbow was so severe that I was concerned I would not be able to finish the work I wanted to complete today. I took a moment to pray and ask Jesus to help me accomplish my work.

Sometimes We Fail

Jesus reminded me of the word He had given me months earlier: “elbow.” I laughed out loud because I understood that He had known this day would come. He knew my focus would be somewhere else, and I would fail to pray for my ELBOW. I was focused on the work and was trying to ignore my elbow and the pain. He had me pray in advance for something I was going to try to ignore. He cares about everything I care about, plus the pain I was trying to ignore.

I was blessed with this wonderful peace and understanding of how much Jesus loves me. Jesus knows and cares about all of us and our pain. He really does know our future, and His plans for us are good. I have a deeper understanding of Jeremiah 29:11, and it is blessing my soul this morning. It is so cool that He had me pray about something that He knew I would try to ignore. It is true that He cares about us more than we care about ourselves.

Jesus Cares About My Elbow Pain

I have to laugh at how comical I was about getting the understanding of the “elbow” word from Jesus. I had to wait until the Lord’s perfect timing before I could fully receive what He wanted me to understand. Sometimes, I really struggle with waiting. I now can see why I needed to wait.

I am feeling better now, and my elbow pain is gone. I got healing from Jesus and an understanding that is difficult to put into words. I love Jesus’ sense of humor. I enjoy seeing that part of Him in others, too. I am praying Jesus pours out blessings on you and those you love today in wonderful and surprising ways. Hope you or anyone you love is not experiencing any elbow pain. If you are, don’t worry, Jesus has you covered in prayer already.

Prayer

Holy Father, sanctify me in Your love. Jesus, help me get my work done without ignoring what is important to You. Please help others who are working through their pain. Help them accomplish their work and ease their pain. Open everyone’s eyes so we can understand how wonderful You are. You love us, and we are more important to You than the work we do for You. In Your Holy name I pray, Jesus, with a grateful heart that knows I am dearly loved by You. Amen.
