During a Meditative Balance Prayer, God used my name to help me understand how important each aspect of our-self (soul, heart and mind) is important to the whole-self. As a child I was called Becky by most people. As an adult I used my name Rebecca more often.
When I was 5 years old I had a personal experience with Jesus and I have always felt that He knew my soul, my spirit as Becky. My earthly Dad would often call me Beck as his personal nickname for me. It always made me feel love and my heart was often comforted when he would call me Beck instead of Becky. As I entered adulthood, I used my name Rebecca as the more adult psyche version of Becky. Rebecca to me is the thinker and worker. Rebecca is the name on my college degrees.
What’s in a Name?
God also used His name, “Lord God Almighty” to help me get a better picture of how He is a Trinity, yet One God. I can now see Jesus as Lord, Father as God and the Holy Spirit as Almighty. God helped me see that even we humans have different aspects of our whole-self as one person. God is Spirit and He helped me see that even though He is a Trinity of three Godheads, He is also One God, one essence (Matt 28:19, 2 Cor 13:14).
I love to learn about the different names and titles of God because, they help me see a different attribute of God. Even studying Bible verses and names of God that I know already gives me a deeper perspective. Jeremiah 33:3 confirms that if I call God, that He will answer. Praying to know God better and understand who I am in God starts with using His name.
Focus on God and Pray
Lord God Almighty, please sanctify me in Your Holiness through Your Holy Spirit so that I can come boldly to You for the help I need from You. Thank You so much for helping me get a better understanding of how You are One God. Be glorified as You heal the whole person that I am. In Your Scriptures, in Jeremiah 17:14, I know You are the Lord who hears, heals and saves me. Help me get the healing and balance I need to be who I am in You. Jesus, You are the Christ, be glorified for showing me the Father and the wonderful blessings You favor me with today. Help me receive Your many blessings. Help me get to know You better through Your many Holy Names and Titles. I love You and want to know You even better. Thank You for hearing my prayers. Amen.
