God Keeps Reminding Me That He is Patient

God keeps reminding me that He is not slow. The Lord is not slow in answering our prayers or punishing those who have hurt His people. He is just patient and has a purpose and a plan. I have read many Scriptures like 2 Peter 3:9 that tell me that God holds back His anger against sin. He does not want even one person to perish. He is patient and wants everyone to have the opportunity to repent.

Father Abraham

I had never considered that God also wants everyone to have the opportunity to do good. I often forget that Abraham had two sons. The promised son, Isaac was born to Sarah as God promised. Genesis 16 tells how Ishmael was born first to Sarah’s maidservant Hagar. Romans 11 and Galatians 3:14 explain that Gentile believers were also graphed into Abraham’s lineage. The Kingdom of God through the Messiah added the Christians to Abraham’s lineage due to faith.

My Dream

I recently had a dream that reminded me that God loves the descendants of Abraham. God wants to give everyone in this world a chance to repent and to do good. I dreamed I was working on a Word Document for God as if; I was one of His scribes. He had me color-code the conversations and actions of three groups of people in the document I was working on. The three groups are the three branches of Abraham’s descendants. It was difficult to read the document and make any sense of the many conversations and actions of the people in these three groups.

World Chaos

I believed the world was in chaos due to these three groups’ inability to get along. I thought things would be better if one of the groups could be removed from my document. I hoped peace would help eliminate the chaos in the world. I told God that I wanted to get rid of Muhammad’s group. God told me, “No.”. God then had me activate a filter on the document to change my perspective so I could see within each group. I could see that each group had some people taking action and conducting conversations that pleased God. God told me, “Everyone must have the chance to do good.”.

God Can See the Good

God had me deactivate the group filter and it looked like chaos to me again. I still could not see what God could see. However, I understood that people were important to God. I trusted God and liked that He wanted everyone to have the chance to do good and please God. God watched each individual to see how they influenced their group. Each group then influenced the world; the more good in a group, the greater the impact on the world. I was focused on the World and my need for peace; while God was focused on each person and their potential.

God is Good All of The Time

A Scripture came to my mind that only God is good. In Mark 10:18, Jesus explained that God alone is good. I was reminded that if we want to do good in God’s sight, we must seek to walk in step with Him. He will help us do good if we are willing to receive His help. Through salvation in the Messiah, we can walk with God.

Prayer to Do Good

Lord God Almighty, sanctify me in Your holiness through Christ Jesus. Your ways are higher than our human understanding. You are patient and gracious towards all of us humans. Holy Father, You give us all a chance to repent our sins and do good through You. Please help us walk in step with You through Your only Son, our Messiah. Help us worship You in truth and Spirit for Your name’s sake. Jesus, please bless my friends and family with the overflow of Your love and many blessings. Be glorified because You are patient and keep all of Your promises. Amen.
