Jeremiah 30:17 The Outcast

“For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.”

Have You Felt Like an Outcast

I grew up feeling unloved and being an outcast because I was not the favorite child of one parent who showed favoritism, and my other parent expected adult perfection. Yesterday, a family member said that was how she felt as a child, too. I have also heard other family members say that they felt this way growing up.

We Are Equals in The Lord God

It saddens me that some adults still view themselves as outcasts. In contrast, others still perceive themselves as the entitled “Golden Child” who can do no wrong. Fortunately, some people have a healthier emotional attitude, one that accepts the fact that we all have good days and bad days, and we are all loved. Jesus loves us all and wants to heal any hurtful and wrong thinking we are dealing with. We are equal in the eyes of Jesus, and our thoughts matter to God.

Compassion For the Outcast

The Outcast is the person who has had to deal with neglect, rejection, being overly controlled, or coping with feelings of being unloved by others. These individuals are often wounded and mistreated by others, whether intentionally or unintentionally. When their cries come before God, He has compassion for them. It does not matter if they have been truly rejected and called outcasts by other people or if the person has self-imposed the label of an Outcast on themselves over time due to their wounds.

Restore Health For the Outcast and the Golden Child

Lord God Almighty, thank You for loving me and seeing my pain. Thank You for moving to restore my health and heal my wounds. Be glorified for the compassion You show me and all of the Outcasts that seek Your Face. You teach us to trust in Your love for us. You have taught me to forgive myself and others. LORD, have mercy on the Golden Children who need to seek Your Face. They are also as wounded by favoritism as the outcasts were. Jesus, remove the labels we have learned to call ourselves. Heal our hearts and minds so that You will be praised and glorified as You deserve. In the holy name of Christ Jesus, I pray that You will be glorified as You move on this prayer. Amen.
